Christopher Norton is well-known throughout the world for his compositions for piano, particularly the Microjazz series, published by Boosey & Hawkes, and Connections for Piano, published by 80 Days Publishing. Harry’s Rag was written in 1976 for a guitarist friend, Ashley Lienert in honour of Harry Botham, an influential music educator in Wellington.
Prelude and Tango was also composed in 1976, and won the Hamilton Classical Guitar Society composition competition for its premier performance by Milton Parker.
