“İntisab” has several meanings. It can mean belonging, affiliation or attachment. I used it in the sense of following a path so closely as to becoming one with it; an ultimate sanse of belonging and dedication. This piece has an ABCBDBEB shape. It starts with an introduction which delivers the flavour of the buselik makam without exactly exploring it. I am interested in creating compositions that are connected with the tradition but that extend beyond it. I followed through with the buselik flavour in the second part, obtaining a special color with the use of an alteration of the A flat at the end of a rhythmical phrase. The third part offers flavours of the sultaniyegah makam and explores similarities between makams, ending again on the alteration of the A flat which adds a special taste within this context. In the last part, I tried to experiment with a series of rhythmical elements in which I used the raks aksağı usul (9/8) in alternation with a 10/8 curcuna usul which is actually made of the türk aksağı usul (5/8) repeated twice. This playful back and forth between usuls creates chaos and at the same time a sense of unity among differences. The piece ends on the teslim.
