Buselik Saz Semaisi is a piece whose composer is unknown. Here, the melodic character suggests that it is likely to have been composed during the seventeenth century. The piece makes use of motivic patterns typical of the buselik makam. In the first and second parts of the piece, flavours of the huseyni makam can also be heard as an element of surprise. The C natural used on the approach to the first degree of the scale is another characteristic of the melodic progression of the buselik makam and this is emphasized in the beginning of the teslim. The aksak semai usul (10/8) is the set rhythmic pattern for the saz semaisi genre and it is used throughout without ever changing the grouping of the beats. The latter are arranged as (3+2+2+3). The formal structure of the work is ABCBDB in which the B sections serve as a ritornello, called teslim. A typical feature of the saz semaisi genre in which the last part makes use of an usu/ different than in the previous parts, has been omitted in this work.
The piece has somewhat of instructive flavour and an idyllic atmosphere.
